Maui Ocean Center Review + $550 PayPal Giveaway
One of the last activity we did with the kids was visit Maui Ocean Center. We drove by it almost everyday so when we finally got to go there, it was the best.day.ever for them. First impression was that we were pleasantly surprised it was an outdoor aquarium. Second was it was smaller than the aquarium we have in Shedd Aquarium in Chicago BUT I love it that way. It’s THE perfect size for young kids. In Chicago, it’s so big and it’s always so packed, I feel like I can lose them in a blink of an eye. At Maui Ocean Center, if they run away and turn the corner, I’m not freaking out.
At Maui Ocean Center, all the marine animals are from Hawaii. Whereas other aquariums, they’re from around the world. They’re one of the few aquariums that has beautiful living corals. Twenty five percent of the fish there are found nowhere else in the world. How fascinating is that!
The kids have MANY favorites but I would have to say the feeding of the green sea turtles (they’re obsessed with turtles) at the Turtle Lagoon and the dive presentation. The kids got to see the biggest, smiliest stingray swim by and they screamed (even though they were told to keep quiet during the presentation) each and every time. When we first got to Hawaii, we taught them how to hang ten. When one of the divers swam by one of my boys and threw the shaka sign, their faves lit up and laughed. The best way to end that day was when the diver gave all the kids high fives from inside the tank. They were in absolute awe and couldn’t stop talking about it for days.

Balance Bike Carrie Giveaway-CLOSED!
So you’re probably thinking, bike carrier? Why would I need one? I’ll give you an example on the times we could’ve really used one. Twice a week, we take Little G to soccer. He likes to ride his balance bike or pedal bike over to the soccer field. Which is just a block from our home. Twice a week we have to cut across the field and as you can imagine, it’s not easy for a kid to ride his bike across grass. So we would end up carrying his bike to the meeting point. Which would leave one of us with no hands to hold one or two of the kids. Even if they’re in a stroller, we won’t be able to push it. So with this carrier, it leaves our hands free to do whatever we wish. Why didn’t we come across this carrier before??? This Woom balance bike carrier has been soooo helpful for this mom of three! Best of all, it fits all balance bikes, too! Oh and in case you missed my blog post on our review on the Woom1 and Woom3, you can read about that here.
To win, comment on this blog post, like my Instagram page, and Woom Bikes USA Instagram page. Winner will be announced here this Sunday May, 8th and will be chosen through Random.org.

Woom Bikes Review
As I think back over the past 4 years about the milestones we’ve marked with our Little G, I can’t help but feel overwhelmingly proud to add another to the list. At 4 years old, our toddler is riding a pedal bike on his own.
It started with the Giant researching kid bikes last summer. After a couple of hours visiting twowheelingtots.com, he quickly learned that training wheels were a thing of the past, and balance bikes were the fastest way to get them off and riding confidently. The weight of the bike and seating posture are critical. So we bought the lightest and easiest to use balance bike we could find. After a week, he had it figured out and was tearing down the sidewalk. By the end of the summer, he had the concept of balancing on two wheels mastered, along with turning and stopping with the handbrake.
Fast forward to today. We decided we would get a pedal bike this spring as Little G had outgrown the balance bike. There are a lot of bikes on the market but the same rules apply when selecting one – get the lightest one with good seating posture. This pretty much rules out anything from a big box store. So again Giant did research and settled on the Woom3 from Woombikes USA’s online store. We also took this opportunity to try the Woom1 balance bike for Wee G since he’s a bit younger and smaller at 2 years old.
When the bikes arrived, we were just as excited as the kids were. They were wrapped extremely well and were fully assembled, thankfully. The Giant just had to adjust the handlebars and seat heights. He was impressed with the quality, which we were happy about since I admit, these bikes are not inexpensive. But in this case, you get what you pay for. Woom seriously designed this bike around toddlers – big handlebar grips, easy-to-reach handbrakes for little hands, and recessed hardware throughout to avoid snags on clothing. It even has a steering angle limiter to prevent the handle bars from swinging around backwards. Little G’s favorite part? The bell and kickstand of course.
It took Lil G all of 5 minutes to get the hang of the pedals. Because he already established good balance with his previous bike, adding pedals to the mix wasn’t difficult. Little G now begs to hop on his new Woom3 pedal bike whenever the weather is nice. He is just as proud of himself as we are of him when he rides it. And of course, Little Wee G loves the Woom1 since he gets to ride with his big brother on matching bikes.
