Holiday Shopping at Chicago Block 37

Last year I got so much of my holiday shopping done at Block 37, the kids were excited to go back! Block 37 is the ultimate urban shopping, dining, and entertaining experience. We like to start by filling our bellies at Latinicity before we shop till our feet ache. The kids loved stopping by Block 37’s Holiday Pop-Ups for some fun Instagrammable backdrops! Follow Block Thirty Seven on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter and tag a photo of yourself at our Holiday Pop-Up Photo Room (located at the Pop Up Market on Level 3) with #HOLIDAYSATBLOCK37 for a chance to win one of three $250 Shopping Sprees to your favorite Block Thirty Seven retailers! Full rules and regulations can be found at www.blockthirtyseven.com

I’m going to put together some off my favorite holiday gifts for men that you can pick up at some of Block 37’s great retailers, such as Zara, Banana Republic Factory Store, and Sunglass Hut.

After we bought all of our holiday gifts, we ended the fun day seeing Frozen 2 at AMC Dine-In Theatres. The kids loved it!

Have you guys checked out Block 37? If you haven’t, what are you waiting for?

Happier Mornings with Del Monte Fruit

This post has been sponsored by Del Monte®. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Things that happened before 11am:

I told myself I’m going to pretend they’re not fighting and acting like animals.

One kid got into my makeup.

I broke my finger, don’t ask (but score, for it being the first time ever breaking a bone). Then Rhys said to me, “I forgive you for breaking your finger”. Oh, the irony.

I didn’t have time to have my morning coffee, and I read a text message incorrectly and went to meet the girls for lunch…a day early!!!

Two of my boys fell into mud and they smelled terrible.

I’m still scrambling around to find a sitter for tonight’s date night.

I’m pretty sure they banded together to make sure they break me today.

But, I did manage to eat a quick, satisfying breakfast before I hit the road this morning. Del Monte® has a line of fruit snacks for adults that are a godsend to all moms! Quick, easy, and tasty. Today, while my little one was busying himself in my makeup, apparently, I enjoyed a Del Monte® Fruit & Oats™ cup at home—it’s the first ready-to-eat oatmeal with one full serving of fruit*! It can be warmed up but is also pretty good eaten cold (like I did this morning). There are three delicious flavors: Pear Maple, Peach Cinnamon Spice, and good ol’ Apple Cinnamon. Love that I don’t have to whip out any pots, but I can still have all the goodness and flavor of oats that taste just like how mom used to make ‘em.

Who loves a good on-the-go snack like I do? My latest favorite mom hack is the Del Monte® Fruit Refreshers®. It’s conveniently packaged and would be great to take along during your day spent chauffeuring your kids around like it’s your job. Oh wait… At under 100 calories, these tasty fruit cups are basically the grown-up version of the fruit cups you used to love as a child—except with no artificial flavors or sweeteners. What’s your favorite refreshing flavor? Mine’s the Pineapple in Passion Fruit, hands down!

Don’t forget to try Del Monte® Fruit & Chia™ cups, too. Chia is a superfood, and it’s all the rage amongst hipster moms, but I’m just loving the tropical fruity flavors that take me back to the days of summer. The extra fiber, vitamin C and omega-3s don’t hurt 😉 If you’re so inclined to share your goodies with your little monsters (kidding), all of the Del Monte products come in a 2-pack and you can find them in the fruit cup aisle at your local retailer. Try it and save $0.75 on a one-pack of Del Monte Fruit & Oats Cups here, you’ll thank me later!

*Each container has 1 serving (1/2 cup) of fruit per USDA Nutrient Data

When Fashion Meets Function with BUILT New York Bags

built ny lunch tote

I’m presently in New York, the greatest city in the world (next to my Chicago, of course), and it feels like the perfect time to show off my new City Carryall bag by BUILT NY. BUILT offers a collection of industrious, stylish and protective goods ranging from freezable lunchbags and essential tote bags to kids backpacks and kitchen accessories. BUILT’s products combine form and function, like this City Carryall, which is made from durable neoprene, that wetsuit material which protects against spills, splashes, bumps and drops–perfect for a busy mom on the go! I love the chic granite print here, but this bag also comes in a classic black. It has an interior pocket, which easily fits my keys, phone, wallet, and more.

BUILT’s products are designed in New York and inspired by the city that never sleeps–and like a native New Yorker, this City Carryall bag makes a bold statement at first impression, don’t you agree? Follow along with my New York adventures on my InstaStories!

Getting Weekend Ready with Payless ShoeSource

windy city petite fashion blogger

These days it’s all about comfort, which is why today on the blog I am talking affordable everyday shoes that look polished and weekend ready. Being a busy mom doesn’t mean you can’t have style. Every year around this time I like to hoard a few new shoes to take me through the holiday season, and with Payless I’m not breaking the bank! Payless currently has a ton of great new styles for every holiday occasion, which you can check out for yourself here.

For a day on the go, I am loving these zip ankle booties. They’re sturdy, stylish, and under $30 on sale right now, so you really can’t go wrong! Keep your look classic by pairing it with your fave skinny jeans and cozy holiday sweater if you’re running about town with your kiddos. Or dress it up with a mini skirt and leather moto jacket for a Red Cup coffee date. The everyday fashion possibilities are endless when you have an easy peasy shoe like this! Personally, I love the dual zippers and the ease of slipping in and out of it… cuz ain’t no momma got time to mess with laces! I also like this tan mule, this brick red suede pointed bootie, and this tassel loafer . If you want to add a bit of edge to your weekend errands, try on this black suede bootie with cutouts for maximum style impact!

What’s your weekend style M.O.?
